What is spinal stenosis? Spinal stenosis is narrowing of the lumbar or the cervical spinal canals which causes compression of roots of nerves. This leads to persistent buttock pain, lack of feelings in extremities, decreased physical activity, and limping. Spinal stenosis mostly affects the middle aged or mainly the elderly people. It is caused due to the Paget’s disease, osteoarthritis, spinal cord or even by an injury which is caused due to pressure on the nerve roots. Usually, conservative management is encouraged.
